Elijah Armstrong of Pocatello High School in Idaho and the Great Oak boys team of California went into the Asics Clovis Invitational on Saturday at Woodward Park in Fresno, California as the top nationally ranked entrants and favorites to win the championship boys race. Neither disappointed and put on a show for the crowd with Armstrong winning the race individually with a near sub 15 minute 5K effort, while the Great Oak boys rolled with a 15:43 average for their top 5 and time spread under 45 seconds for first place in the team standings.
