Allie Ostrander Wins World Junior Mountain Running Title In Wales

While both Rohrer and Frazier recorded impressive victories over the weekend, neither of them garnered the distinction of "World champion" like Boise State frosh Allie Ostrander did on Saturday in Wales. The Kenai (AK) native became just the second American woman to win the World Junior Mountain Running title, covering the rugged 2.92 mile course with 820 ft. of elevation change in 19:44 and winning by a sizable 39-seconds.

The 2014 NXN champion has a lot of experience in mountain running, as the 18-year-old has competed in the legendary Mount Marathon race in Seward, Alaska since the age of 12. This past July, Ostrander finished second in her debut in the women's senior race after six straight years of winning the women's junior title.

Ostrander already made her Bronco debut on September 11th, winning the Dual in Speedway Meadow in San Francisco in 20:44 for 6K. Next up she'll face a deep field at the Roy Griak Invitational this Saturday, LIVE on FloTrack.
