Unranked St. Xavier over #17 Brentwood at Great American (NC)

Brodey Hasty looks like a killer again this fall, one year after recording a surprise seventh-place NXN finish as a sophomore. It took a new course record to defeat D.J. Principe, as both boys ran through the tape in 14:32 with Hasty gaining the slight edge. Hasty's teammate, senior Taylor Vroon, recorded his first sub-15 run to take third in 14:57 over No. 23 ranked Connor Lane of Cardinal Gibbons, N.C., whose 14:59 was also a career first sub-15.

In the team standings, Brentwood's 1-3 finish was not enough to win the team title, as unranked St. Xavier of Louisville, Kentucky packed together an impressive 15-second spread to garner 111 points just ahead of the #17 ranked Tennessee team (119).

#7 Cooper Teare over #5 Michael Vernau at Stanford Invitational (CA)

There are four Californians ranked within the nation's top 25 and three of them raced at Stanford on Saturday. #7 Cooper Teare proved dominant over #5 Michael Vernau, 14:38 to 14:47 over 5K, in their first matchup of the season. #17 ranked Callum Bolger was third in 14:54.
