Louisiana Standout Reagann LeLeux Pops US No. 1 13-3 In PV At Galleria Games

Watch out Louisiana, because there's another star pole vaulter shooting up the ranks in 2018.

After a new US No. 1 indoor performance of 13 feet, 3 inches at the Galleria Games on Saturday in Birmingham, Alabama, Catholic (LA) High senior Reagann Leleux has found herself as the nation's best.

The younger sister of former Catholic High star and former New Balance Nationals Indoor champ Morgann Leleux, Reagann has made an impressive start to her senior campaign, improving eight inches from a PR of 12-7 from last year at the LSU High School Classic.

Reagann's 13-3 would have stood as the eighth best performance of 2017 and begins nationally as the first effort over 13 feet this season. Leleux is the returning state indoor champion in Louisiana, but she may have to consider pursuing efforts beyond Louisiana after a massive jump.

That same mark would have earned her a third-place mark at New Balance Nationals Indoors from last season.

Reagann's sister, Morgann, a former University of Louisiana-Lafayette pole vaulter, was an Olympic alternate in the event after finishing fourth at the USA Track and Field Championships in 2016. She was a five-time indoor high school state champion and marked a personal best of 13-8.25 as a senior.

Reagann could tie her sister with her fifth state championship this year and could potentially vie for a national title as well.
