Arria Minor Improves US No. 2 400m At Simplot Games

Denver Lightning's (CO) Arria Minor improved her US No. 2 400m time on Saturday at the Simplot Games. Last weekend Minor ran 53.80 at the Great Southwest Classic, only to come back this weekend to reduce her time to 53.47.

Minor also ran in the 60m dash which she won running 7.40.  Her wins are all the more impressive when you consider that she spent the earlier part of this week battling the flu. In Minor's post-race interview she told us that she was feeling good after her race and had spent the week training through the illness while supplementing with Vitamin C and extra hydration.

She plans to race again at New Balance Nationals Indoor.

Minor wasn't the only athlete to have a strong race in the 400m. The junior was followed closely by Provo's (UT) Meghan Hunter who also went sub 54 seconds running 53.92. Hunter's time is the new US No. 3 mark. Just last weekend Hunter ran US No. 5, 2:11.38 in the 800m.
