8. Javelin Stars Have One More Go

Per usual, Pennsylvania is having a terrific season in the javelin on both the girls' and boys' side. Despite a pair of the top female throwers competing at USATF Juniors instead of NBNO, plenty of talent is headed to North Carolina.

10 PA boys are entered in the championship section of the event this weekend (Saturday, 6pm). AA state champ Ethan Dabbs of Richland headlines the list of Keystone Staters in the field. Dabbs tossed a PA#1 and US#4 of 217-06 at Ship to win that state title. Just off him at states was Noah Drudy of Hopewell, who threw a huge PR, PA#2, and US#5 of 215-00 for second place. Drudy and Penn Manor's Alexander Scheivert (PA#3; US#7) are both in the top flight.

For the girls, the AAA and AA state champs will be in Indiana. But a host of talented throwers will be at NC A&T for the championship section (Friday, 6:30pm). Moniteau's Cambrie Campbell is the top PA girl in the field. She enters the weekend at PA#4 and US#20. North East's Lillian Hill and South Park's Maura Huwalt are in the top flight as well.
