BONNERSFERRY, ID--2008 Footlocker Finalist Cody Heibling dominates; Northern Idaho Juggernaut, Coeur d'Alene High boys make impressive showing scoring an amazing 26 points at the Bonners Ferry Invitational.
Lake City phenom Cody Heibling secures an amazing 41 second victory over sensational sophomore Cody Curtis of Coeur d'Alene high. Curtis as a freshman shocked Idaho with a 2nd and 3rd place showing at the State 1600 and 3200 races (4:23/9:38). Heibling, is the #5 returner from the Footlocker National race in 2008 and has firmly shown that he is ready for a potential National Title run in 2009; certainly a State Title seems inevitable for this Northern Idaho sensation.
Placing 5 runners in the top 10, Coeur d'Alene Hiigh, led by Curtis, sends a powerful message to southern counterparts that the Idaho State Title will go through Northern Idaho this year. It will be interesting to see how the team progresses in the weeks to come against more stern competition.
On the girls side, Kinsey Gomez paces the Coeur d'Alene girls to an impressive team victory. Gomez demolishes the girls field by over a minute and a half!!! Who knows what the season will bring for this sensational runner!
