Former Idaho State Runners Come Out of Retirement for Alumni Meet Oct 23, 2010

POCATELLO, Idaho - The Idaho State men and women's cross country teams hosted the 25th Annual Alumni Meet Saturday. Runners arrived in the standard flamboyant attire that has come to be expected in this reunion between current and former athletes from the cross country and track and field programs. Racers from all walks of life showed up to compete in the enjoyable race. Impressively, alumna Shannalee Hansen performed double duty, running the 2K course with a baby on board.

POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State cross country returns to Pocatello this week as the Bengals host the 24th annual Alumni Meet. Races begin at 10 a.m. at ISU's Centennial Course and everyone is invited to compete. This will be the last event of the 2010 season held at the Bengals' home course as ISU will close out the season with the Big Sky Championship Saturday, Oct. 30 and NCAA Regional Saturday, Nov. 13.

Wendt-Richardson Claims Another Top 5 Finish at Bronco Invite Oct 16, 2010

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Senior Erica Wendt-Richardson notched her fifth top five finish of the 2010 season with a third-place overall finish at the Bronco Invitational in Santa Clara, Calif., Saturday. Wendt-Richardson finished the 5K course at Baylands Park in a time of 17:09.3 and was less than 20 seconds behind first-place finisher Lauren Lodge of Pepperdine. The only other attached runner to defeat Wendt-Richardson was Pepperdine's Chelsea Wishard, who finished in third place with a time of 16:57.8.

POCATELLO,Idaho - The Idaho State women's cross country team travels to Santa Clara, Calif., to compete in the Bronco Invitational Saturday, Oct. 16, at Baylands Park. Senior Ryan Davis will be the lone representative for the Bengal men's cross country team. Racing begins with the women's invitational at 9 a.m. followed by the women's open at 9:45 a.m. The men's races kick off at 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.

POCATELLO, Idaho - The Idaho State Strength and Conditioning Department will conduct the inaugural To Weber and Back Fundraiser Oct. 15-16, 2010. The fundraiser will utilize ISU student-athletes to raise money for the ISU Strength and Conditioning Department, the ISU sport team that raises the most money and the Bannock Country Humane Society.

POCATELLO, Idaho - The Idaho State women had a decisive victory over the College of Idaho and Utah State as ISU took four of the top five spots to compile a team score of 19 Saturday at ISU's own Centennial Course. Senior Erica Wendt-Richardson and junior Bradi Hutchison led ISU as the duo crossed the finish line holding hands to tie for first-place overall, both finishing the 4K course in a time of 15:27. Idaho State's men team continued to struggle as the team fell 31-25 to the College of Idaho.

Arnold's mark placed him in a five-way tie for second place. Arnold's previous best mark was 17-3.75, recorded at the Big Sky Conference Championship. Today's vault of 17-7.75 is another NCAA provisional mark for Arnold and is just 4.75 inches away from the NCAA automatic mark.

Nampa, Idaho - The Idaho State men's track team fell to Boise State (71-67) and Utah Valley (73-65) Saturday at the BSU Duals held in Nampa, Idaho despite Big Sky Conference qualifying marks by sophomore Mike Arnold and senior Brandon Graef. Arnold took first place in the pole vault clearing 5.00 meters while Graef posted a qualifying time of 8.36 in the men's 60-meter hurdles to finish second overall.

Pocatello, Idaho - Senior Cassie Merkley and junior Amanda Vink-Johnston led the Idaho State women's track and field team to victories over Southern Utah, North Dakota, Utah, Utah State and Utah Valley Friday at the Bengal Shoot Out. Merkley finished second in the 60-meter hurdles scored preliminary round and third in the final with a time of 8.80. Merkley also tied for third in the women's high jump with teammate Vink-Johnston with a distance of 1.68 meters. Vink-Johnston also placed fifth in the long jump with a distance of 5.28 meters.

Pocatello, Idaho - The Big Sky Conference announced the indoor track and field preseason rankings Tuesday and while the team did not receive a single first-place vote, the Idaho State men managed to notch 53 points to place third in the poll. The women are ranked fourth with 45 points.
