Top March Track & Field Performances in Idaho

March marked the start of the outdoor track and field season in Idaho, and athletes across the state delivered strong early performances. From competitive distance races to standout sprint efforts and consistent marks in the field events, several athletes are already setting the tone. Below, we highlight some of the top performances from March as the season gets underway.

Distance

Idaho's distance group is led by strong front-end performances across multiple events. Ethan Willis stands out in the 800m, while Hyrum Tuft and Drew Donahue delivered nearly identical 1600m marks. Austin Johnston leads the 3200m in March as a sophomore. On the girls' side, Hallie Heemeyer broke five minutes in the 1600m, while Annabelle Carr leads the 800m and Dakota Keyworth and Sasha Livingston head a tight 3200m race.

Sprints

Idaho's sprint events showcase a few standout athletes across different disciplines. Spencer Van Orden leads with strong times in the 100m and both hurdle events, while Jacob Davis achieved an impressive 200m/400m double. On the girls' side, many of the top 100m marks were wind-aided, but they still indicate early speed. Annabelle Carr and Isla Anderson lead the 400m group with performances under 58 seconds.

Field 

The field events are led by strong performances in the jumps for both boys and girls. Nick Loufoua stands out in the triple jump with a mark over 47 feet, while the high jump features two athletes clearing 6-8. River Spalding leads the pole vault at 15 feet. On the girls' side, Kami Clayton and Hallie Hartman both surpassed 42 feet in the triple jump, with additional depth in the long jump and pole vault.
