Rocky Mountain High School, Meridian, Idaho - Sprint Medley Team took off tonight running a 3:26.65 at the YMCA Invitational!
From left to right in the picture;
- Jordon Wallin - 800m (Junior)
- Josh Wallin - 400m (Senior)
- Levi Hagen - 200m (Junior)
- Jacob Seward - 200m (Freshman)
We talked with Jordon Wallin after the race (who could barely breathe) and when he heard his split was 1:52 and some change - the SMR team knew something special had just happened!! Jordon, running the 800m leg had the opportunity to watch Seward have a great start. "At the first turn, Jake was already in the lead - he set us up good!". Jake had easily created a gap in the field and Levi stretched the lead out even more. Josh Wallin ran the 400m with a 48.3 split which gave his brother Jordon a huge lead! "It’s tough to run a fast time by yourself, but I knew our team had the potential to do something special", and something they did.
We caught up to Head Coach Brad Abbott (who you can see yelling encouragement down the home stretch), but he had no voice left and couldn't comment.
Congrat’s to the boys from Rocky Mtn – job well done!!
