3A // In the 3A field events, Sophomore Asha Abubakari (Bonners Ferry) is your current leader in both the shot and disc with marks of 38'08" and 106'08," both personal bests. As a freshman last season, Abubakari placed 3rd in the 3A state championships in the shot (35'11.50") and 14th in the discus (85'04"). Fruitland boasts a fantastic freshman in Lydia Lindsey, who jumped out to an overall state lead in the high jump with a clearance of 5'04" in a March 15 dual meet. She also dashed to a 13.09 100m, which ranks her #11 in Idaho and #1 in 3A.

2A // Nampa Christian's Paiton Mills (11) is your current 2A leader in both the 100m and 200m. She comes in with a personal best 12.82w from last years IHSAA 2A championships, where she earned the 100m state title. She is also last year's returning 2A state champion in the 200m, were she raced to a time of 26.42. Melba's Taylor McCoy has the state's second-best throw in the discus with her mark of 129'11 behind only Bishop Kelly's Jacoba Luteyn, while Firth's Tara Butler leads 2A in the high jump and is T-2 in the state with her jump of 5'02".

1A // Last year's 1A state champion in the 400m was freshman Heidi Harper (Raft River) with her time of 57.93. Harper has yet to race in 2022, but the 2021 1A 400m state runner-up, Kadence Beck (Highland-C) has, and she means business in 2022. With a new lifetime best in the 400m (58.56) this year, Beck also ran personal best in the 100m (12.72) and the 200m (26.43) that same day. Harper and Beck finished 1-2 at last year's 1A state championship in the 400m. Beck's 2022 100m time currently sits T-2 in the state and leads 1A, while her 200m time ranks her 5th in Idaho and #1 in 1A. Murtaugh's Adysyn Stanger has leaped out to a personal best in the long jump, 17'07.50", only a half of an inch behind current Idaho leader, Kaila Mederios of Meridian. Mederios holds a pesonal best of 18'05.25". Stanger was the 1A state runner-up last season with a jump of 15'08.75".
