Fab 5: Top 5 Freshman (Girls)

May 19, 2022

There is some exceptional young talent this year on the girls' side, including a state leader in freshman Marissa Tuft of Ridgevue who has the best triple jump in Idaho (37-07). Sometimes the younger talent that doesn't get to the top of the leaderboard can get overlooked, but the reality is, these are the names of the future. As we approach the end of the 2022 track and field season, let's take a look at the Gem State's 'Fab Five Freshman' spanning across all the individual events. There are several names that make this list in multiple events, including Fruitland's Lydia Lyndsey (#1 100, #1 High Jump, #2 200). Boys Fab 5 to follow.

Owyhee's Faith Johnson (above) is the lone Sub-11:00 minute 3200m freshman in Idaho
