Welcome to Milesplit Idaho's new Interview Series , Mix it up with Michael in this series I will look to interview athletes, coaches across the state of Idaho in person and via zoom. Not only will I interview athletes I will look to interview members of the community who are invested in these athletes and love track and field.
In part one of the Mix up with Michael Series I was able to catch up with Boise High School Senior Chayse Sloan. During his senior year Indoor campaign Sloan is the state leader in the long jump with a leap of 22'8.5 a mark set at the 2023 UHSTCA Indoor Invitational in Kearns, UT. Sloans 41'10.5 jump in the boys Triple Jump during indoor is the second best time in Idaho. Sloan has committed to jump for Eastern Washington University next year and has high goals for the outdoor season and hopes to bring a State Championship in the jumps to Boise High School. In the mean time Sloans focus is to finish out the indoor season on a high note with his Idaho Dash Track Club a team he has been a part of since he was in third grade with Coach James Honell.Chayse and his indoor team the Idaho Dash Track Club will travel to New York City to compete in the Indoor Nationals at the Armory.
