Broncos Geared Up for Jacksons Invitational Friday and Saturday
MEET SPECIFICS - The Boise State track and field team hosts one of its biggest meets, the Jacksons Invitational, on Friday, Jan. 25 and Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Jacksons Indoor Track in Nampa, Idaho. The meet is run in conjunction with the New Balance Boise Indoor meet which caters to high school and junior high competitors. The two meets schedules are intermixed with the collegiate portions hosting pentathlon and heptathlon competitions both mornings, as well as individual track and field events throughout the weekend.
TICKETS AND PARKING - Pricing for the meet is as follows:
$5 - Adults
$3 - Students with ID / Kids 6-12 years / Seniors 60+
Kids 5 and under are free
*Parking is free
DIRECTIONS TO THE IDAHO CENTER - The Idaho Center sits on the north side of East Franklin Road, between Idaho Center Blvd. and Star Road, approximately one-half mile north of Interstate 84. If coming from I-84, take Exit 38 and go north approximately one-half mile to the light (E. Franklin Rd.). Go right at the light and continue approximately another one-half mile and turn left onto Equine Drive. Continue another one-quarter mile and the building will be on the right.

THE COMPETITION - The Boise State men and women welcome NCAA Division I opponents Idaho State, Nevada, Sacramento State, UC Irvine, Utah State and Weber State, as well as NCAA Division II opponents Academy of Art, Cal State Stanislaus and Northwest Nazarene. The College of Idaho, an NAIA affiliate, and Treasure Valley Community College, as well as a handful of club teams will take part in the collegiate events.
SEASON OF CHAMPIONS - Broncos who have earned wins during the 2012-13 indoor season include: Will Lohman, Weight Throw (3); Justin Malnes, 60m hurdles (3); Manoah Wesson, 200m (1), 400m (1) and 500m (1); Jordin Andrade, 400m (1); Daveon Collins, 200m (1); Allan Schroeder, Mile (1); Chase Sexton, Shot Put (2); Roderick Townsend, High Jump (1); Emma Bates, Mile (1); Deb Johnson, Triple Jump (1); Lauren Lucas, Mile (1); Kimberly Miller, Long Jump (1); Kady Stafford, Weight Throw (1); men's 4x400m relay (2); and women's 4x400m relay (1).
IN THE RANKINGS According to www.tfrrs.org a handful of Broncos sit amongst the nations top-50 in their respective events, including: Jordin Andrade (12th, 400m); Emma Bates (27th, Mile); Karrie Butler (41st, 400m); Daveon Collins (22nd, 200m), Justin Malnes (37th, 60m hurdles); Chase Sexton (22nd, shot put); Rolando Trammel (22nd, 60m hurdles); Manoah Wesson (47th, 200m; 30th, 400m); and the mens 4x400m relay (18th).

HONORS CANDIDATES - Jordin Andrade and Emma Bates collected the first MW Athlete of the Week honors for the 2012-13 indoor track and field season. The pair earned the honors on Dec. 11, 2012

The Jacksons Invitational (NB West) meet will be held Jan. 25-26 while the Bronco Classic (Feb. 2) and Boise State Team Challenge (Feb. 8-9) round out the schedule. Boise State travels to the Husky Invitational (Feb. 9) and the UW Last Chance Qualifier (March 2). The Broncos will also play host the 2012 Mountain West Indoor Championships Feb. 21-23.
